Flaunt your footwear with lace-up heels

Date:June 16th, 2013 by Admin

Nothing can up your style quotient more than a sexy pair of high heels. And if you want them to be sexier, just opt for the tie-up or lace-up styles! These trendy shoes have a typical girly feel to them thanks to the delicate ribbons and laces and that make lace tie-ups a cool and sexy choice.

Shoe and accessory designer Pushpita Gaur says, "Tie-up heels are definitely in trend internationally. It began last season but has transformed from just delicate and feminine to more bold and aggressive in terms of styling and colours." You can go ahead and complement your wardrobe with the various designs and styles available - whether it is the rope, the knotted, the stripe or the scarf.

Kapil Mahtani, CEO of a popular shoe store in the city says, "Though this style has been around since the last season, it is picking up well only now, and we have seen a demand in the market for these." The fact that these shoes work not only for high-fashion dressed-up occasions but can also be worn as casual wear, may be the reason behind their gaining popularity, he feels.

Almas Nanda, shoe designer, states that block colours like shocking pink, electric blue, orange and nude are really hot this season for tie-ups. "Of course black is an all-time favourite. And these shoes usually look good with most outfits," she says. Lace-up heels can give the wearer a very dressy look, or can give a quirky and fun look, depending upon the design.

Pushpita, however says, "This trend still has to get a proper foothold in the Indian market. We cannot deny that lace ups whether flats or heels look best when worn with dresses, skirts or capris etc and generally do not compliment Indian outfits. But, corset tie ups on three-inch heels, platform heels with scarf tie-ups and tie-ups on heels with rhinestones are popular."

How to wear them:

Pair your lace-up heels with something short to show them off! A nice pair of shorts, or a mini-skirt or dress will help you carry off the look. Rolled up skinnies will attract attention to the lacing. Another cool way to wear the lace-up heel, is to match them up with a pair of straight slacks.
